After winning the number two match and losing the number three match, the Lady Eagles (2-3) grabbed the doubles point with a win at the first seed.
The Lady Eagles also dominated in the singles pairings winning five of the six matches. Junior Ana Paula Novaes at number one and freshman Malin Sjoqvist at number six were Winthrop's highlights as both players blanked their opponents. Cougar Chelsea Albertz provided the lone win at singles, taking down Patricia Coimbra 7-5, 6-4.
The team hits the road for a match at 18th ranked University of Georgia this Saturday at 12:00 p.m. The Cougars (1-5) travel to Charlotte to take on the 49ers the 18th at 10:30 a.m.
