Cougars Earn 5-2 Win over Eagles in Women's Tennis

The College of Charleston women's tennis team took five of six singles matches to clinch the 5-2 win over the Georgia Southern Eagles in action this afternoon in Statesboro, Ga.
The Cougars improve to 11-9 overall and 6-1 in the Southern Conference, while the Eagles drop to 5-13 and 2-5 in the league.
The Eagles seized the doubles point from the Cougars, taking matches from the No. 2 and 3 flights. Kim Wollett and junior Heather Reynolds out-dueled Ashley Finnegan and Maxine Capewell 8-5 at No. 2, while Szilvia Zsakay and freshman Jessica Matlosz took down Amanda Becker and Jessica Tuckman 8-3 from the No. 3 spot.
The Cougars used victories at number two, three, four, five and six singles to rebound from the doubles point loss and take the 5-2 win.
The Eagles will continue their home stand against non-conference opponent Jacksonville on Friday, April 7th at 2 PM, while the Cougars travel up to Wofford Saturday, April 8th for a 1:00 PM match.
