
CofC Women?s Tennis Drops Season Opener at #17 Clemson, 7-0

The College of Charleston women's tennis team dropped its season opener at #17 Clemson, 7-0, on Saturday at the Clemson Indoor Tennis Center.
Charleston's record now stands at 0-1 overall while Clemson improves to 1-0.
Clemson earned one point for winning all three of the double matches in the meet and each singles match victory earned one individual point for the Tigers.
“We learned a lot from today's meet against a nationally ranked team such as Clemson, especially playing indoors, which is something different then the girls are used to,” said CofC women's tennis head coach Angelo Anastopoulo. “We look forward to our home opener against a very good East Tennessee State team that won the Atlantic Sun Championship last season.”

2) Balda (CLEM) def. Leskosky (CofC) 7-6, 6-1
3) Mijacika (CLEM) def. Evans (CofC) 6-0, 6-0
4) Hadziselimovic (CLEM) def. Borza (CofC) 6-2, 6-0
5) Brito (CLEM) def. Capewell (CofC) 6-1, 6-4
6) Luc (CLEM) def. Amanda Becker (CofC) 7-1, 7-5
CofC next match will be against East Tennessee State on Feb. 13 at the Patriots Point Tennis Center in Mt. Pleasant, S.C. beginning at 12:30 p.m. Clemson will return to action on Jan. 28 in a home match against the University of South Florida beginning at noon.
