Former College of Charleston women's golf standout Angie Hill shot a 212 in three rounds to finish second at the Jalapeno Duramed Futures Golf Classic held this past weekend at the Palm View Golf Course in McAllen, Texas. She was edged by two strokes by tournament winner Emily Bastel, who fired a 210 in 54 holes to win.
Hill, in her first year on the Futures Tour, shot a 71 in the first and third round and a 70 in the second for her second-place finish.
As a senior at the College of Charleston, the Canton, Ohio, native led the Cougars to the 2006 Southern Conference Championship and their first trip to the NCAA tournament. Hill was named SoCon Player-of-the-Year and followed it up with a CofC record 67 in the third round of the NCAA East Regional.
Earlier this summer Hill earned co-medalist honors at the 2007 LPGA Qualifying Tournament by carding a tournament-low 66 in the final round for a 286.
