SIMPSONVILLE, Ky. – The College of Charleston women's golf team will compete in program's 12th regional appearance May 11-13 at the NCAA Louisville Regional in Simpsonville, Ky. at the University of Louisville Golf Course.
The Cougars enter the regional as the No. 9 seed and are joined in the field by Arkansas, Auburn, Iowa State, Mississippi, Houston, Virginia Tech, Kansas State, Indiana, Xavier, Western Kentucky, and Murray State.
Each site of the six sites will have 12 teams and six individuals competing for a spot at the 2026 NCAA Women's Golf National Championship at Omni La Costa Resort in Carlsbad, California. The top four teams and top two individuals not on an advancing team will advance to the championship.
Charleston won a CAA-record seventh league title on April 19, the fourth in the last five seasons for the Cougars. After trailing by two strokes to UNCW entering the third round, the Cougars battled back to claim back-to-back conference titles and secured the championship on the final hole of the event.
Senior Adrian Anderson will be making her third NCAA appearance. This will be the second appearance as a Cougar in the postseason for Molly Hardwick, Emilie von Finckenstein, and Emilia von Glahn and the first for rookie Carys Fennessy.
Charleston swept the 2026 CAA Women's Golf awards as Molly Hardwick (Golfer of the Year), Carys Fennessy (Rookie of the Year) and Jamie Futrell (Coach of the Year) earned the recognition as voted on by the league's coaches.
Hardwick picked up her first CAA Golfer of the Year honor and became the fifth straight Cougar winner of the league's top honor after being the league's top-ranked golfer (No. 101), according to Clipp'd. She earned medalist honors at the Edisto Island Invitational in October, earning one of her four Women's Golfer of the Week honors. The senior from Nashville, Tenn., also racked up five top-10 finishes this season, including a sixth-place mark at the 2026 CAA Women's Golf Championship.
Fennessy picked up a unanimous selection for Rookie of the Year honors after a stellar first campaign with the Cougars. The freshman was ranked first among freshmen and third overall in the CAA this season after turning in a trio of top-five finishes, including a fourth-place showing at last week's conference tournament. She is Charleston's first Rookie of the Year winner since Emma Schimpf in 2022.
Futrell earned his seventh accolade as the league's top coach, going back-to-back after securing the recognition in 2025. The Cougars longtime leader helped his program earn its fourth CAA conference title in the last five years and bumped the championship total to seven. Futrell guided a pair of All-CAA First Team honorees and major award winners in Hardwick and Fennessy, while seeing Adrian Anderson and Emilie von Finckenstein garner Second Team honors.
