
College of Charleston men's soccer team set to host Georgia Southern on Tuesday Night

The College of Charleston's men's soccer team returns home to Patriots Point Soccer Stadium, as they host Georgia Southern in Southern Conference action on Tuesday, Oct 14th at 7 p.m.
The Cougars come into the match with a 7-5-0 overall record, 1-2-0 in the SoCon. The team is coming off a 1-0 loss at Elon this past Saturday night.
Charleston is led offensively by Kareem Yearwood, who has tallied 11 points on the season (five goals, one assist). Freshman goalie Clark Hankins has played very well since taking over the goal keeper duties for the Cougars, as he has recorded shutout wins in three of his five starts and has registered a goals against average of 0.77, which is the lowest mark in the SoCon.
Georgia Southern comes into their match with the Cougars with a 3-6-0 overall mark, 1-2-0 in the SoCon. The Eagles picked up their first SoCon win of the season on Sunday against Appalachian State, as the team came back from a 1-0 halftime deficit to win 2-1.
The Eagles are led by Daniel Smith, who scored the game-winner against Appalachian State and has tallied nine points (four goals, one assist) on the season.
Last year, the Cougars were victorious over the Eagles on two separate occasions. In the regular season, Charleston shutout the Eagles 2-0 on the road, as Yearwood and Zach Prince netted goals. The teams met up again the in the first round of the Southern Conference tournament and the Cougars took a 3-1 decision to advance to the conference tournament semifinals. Yearwood, Prince and Casey Gold all scored first half goals to lead Charleston.
