The Cougars come into the weekend with a 9-3-3 overall record, 2-2-2 in the SoCon after the team knocked off Davidson 1-0 in overtime on Oct. 10th, and then battled
Senior forward Megan Manthey led the Cougars in the two games, as she registered goals in both contests. She scored the game-winner against Davidson 1:30 into overtime, while her second period goal against
Senior goalie Erin Smith continued her stellar play, as she earned her sixth shutout win of the year against Davidson and made a total of nine saves in the two games.
Samford comes into their match with the Cougars with a 4-8-2 overall mark, 3-1-2 record in the SoCon. The Bulldogs battled Wofford to a scoreless draw this past Sunday, while they picked up a 3-0 win over Furman on Oct. 10th.
The Bulldogs are led offensively by Amber Cress, who has tallied eight points on the year (four goals, two assists). Goalie Alyssa Whitehead has been dominant in between the pipes for Samford, as she has not surrendered a goal in the last 198 minutes of action.
