
College of Charleston Men?s Soccer Team to Play Furman in Nationally Televised Match

The College of Charleston men's soccer team continues its three-match road swing when they travel to Furman in a return to Southern Conference action on Friday, Oct. 24. The match is set to start at 8 p.m. and will be televised nationally on the Fox Soccer Channel.
This mark's the first time that the Cougars will play a match that will be televised to a national audience. Fans can tune into the game locally on Comcast Digital Cable channel 728, Time Warner digital cable channel 149, Direct TV channel 619 or Dish Network channel 149. Dean Linke and Keith Tabatznik will call the action from Stone Soccer Stadium.
The Cougars come into the match with an 8-7-0 overall mark, 2-3-0 in the Southern Conference. The team dropped their last match on the road at Winthrop, 2-1 in overtime on Tuesday night.
For the season, Kareem Yearwood leads the team in scoring with 11 points (five goals, one assist. His 11 point total is also third best in the Southern Conference.
Freshman goalie Clark Hankins has been serviceable in goal, as he has made 31 saves in eight starts. He has also recorded three shutout victories and has a goals against average of 1.09.
Furman comes into their match with Charleston with a 10-5-1 overall mark, 4-0-1 in the SoCon. In their last match, the Paladins knocked off Clemson, 2-1 in overtime to record their first win over the school since 1999. The team has also won nine of their last 11 matches.
Furman is led offensively by Coleton Henning, who has recorded 17 points (seven goals, three assists) and Patrick Murray, who has tallied 12 point (four goals, four assists) on the year. In goal, freshman Alec Kann has been the Paladins primary keeper. He has made 37 saves and has recorded a 7-2-0 record on the year.
Last season, Furman knocked off the Cougars at Patriots Point, 2-1 to pick up their fourth straight win in the series with Charleston.
