
CofC Women?s Soccer Team set to face The Citadel in Final Regular Season Match of Season

The College of Charleston women's soccer team is set to host their 2008 regular season finale against city-rival The Citadel on Thursday, Oct 30th on 7 p.m. at Patriots Point Soccer Stadium.
The match will also be senior night, as six College of Charleston players will be honored before game-time for their efforts. This year's senior class includes Megan Manthey (Ferndale, Wash.), Katie Browne (Winston Salem, N.C.), Erin Smith (Denver, N.C.), Danielle Jordan (Charleston, S.C.) and Gia D'Agostino (Ivyland, Pa.).
The Cougars come into the match with a 11-5-3 overall mark, 4-4-2 in the SoCon after the team split a pair of matches over the weekend against Furman (L, 1-2) and Wofford (W, 3-0).
In the win over Wofford, three different Cougars tallied goals and the Charleston defensive unit had one of their most impressive outings of the season as they held the Terriers to just two shots on the day.
Manthey continued her frantic offensive season as she scored goals in both matches to push her total on the year to 12. Coming into the last day of regular season Southern Conference play, Manthey leads the entire conference in points (24) and is tied for the league lead in goals scored.
The Citadel comes into their match with the Cougars sporting a 3-13-1 overall record, 1-9-0 in the SoCon. The Bulldogs dropped a pair of matches to Wofford (1-3) and Furman (0-4) this past weekend.
For the season, Amy Loughran and Nikki Mares have each scored five goals Whitney Nave has been the team's primary goalie and has made 72 saves in 15 starts.
All-time, the Cougars are a perfect 7-0-0 against The Citadel. Last season, Charleston coasted to a 4-1 victory, as four different players scored goals for the Cougars on the day.
