
CofC Men?s Soccer Team Set to Host Wofford on Senior Night

CHARLESTON, S.C. --- The College of Charleston men's soccer team concludes their 2008 regular season when they host Wofford on Nov. 4th at Patriots Point Soccer Stadium. Game time is set for 7 p.m.
Also, before the match, the College of Charleston men's soccer program will honor their 2008 senior class, which includes Matt Morris, Ryan Kell, Wes Knight, Casey Gold, Drew Fuzy, Steven Nagy and PJ Lynch.
The Cougars come into the match with a 9-8-0 overall mark, 3-3-0 in the Southern Conference. The team dropped their last match on the road at Coastal Carolina, 2-1 in overtime on Saturday night.
For the season, Morris is the teams leading goal scorer with six, despite the fact that he has had to sit out seven matches on the season due to injury. Junior Kareem Yearwood is right behind Morris in the scoring category, as he has tallied 12 points (five goals, two assists) on the season.
In goal, Clark Hankins and Brendan Smith have shared time on the year and have made a combined 72 saves. They have also combined to record five shutout victories on the season.
Wofford comes into their match with Charleston with a 5-11-0 overall record, 1-5-0 in the SoCon. The Terriers dropped their last match at UNC Asheville, 2-1 on Saturday, which marked the ninth time this season that the Terriers have lost a match by one goal.
Wofford is led offensively by Wilson Hood, who has scored five goals, while goalie Joey Taylor has made 38 saves in 12 starts on the year. The Terriers are coached by a man that is familiar with the Cougar soccer program in Ralph Polson. Polson served as associate head coach under Charleston coach Ralph Lundy from 2000-07.
Last season, The Cougars knocked off Wofford 2-0. Yearwood and Fuzy scored goals in the second half to lead Charleston to the win. All-time, the Cougars hold a 13-6-0 advantage over the Terriers.
