The College of Charleston women's tennis team won four of six singles matches to take the 5-2 win over UNC Greensboro in action this afternoon a the College of Charleston Tennis Center at Patriots Point.
The Cougars, who host Elon at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, improved to 10-2 overall and 2-0 in the Southern Conference. UNC Greensboro fell to 2-6 and 0-1 in the league.
Charleston started the afternoon off by taking the doubles point with a sweep in all three matches. In singles play Link Leskosky defeated Valerie Behr at No. 3, Holly Dowse took the 6-2, 6-0 win over Britney Cloer at No. 4 and Anna Lee Evans defeated Erica Zabkar 6-1, 6-3 at No. 5. Rounding out the Cougars' singles play was at the No. 6 spot with Amanda Becker earning the 6-1, 6-1 win over Courtney Akel.
