
College of Charleston Women's Soccer Team looks to stay Unbeaten at Kennesaw State

CHARLESTON, S.C. -- The College of Charleston women's soccer team, off to their best start in program history at 7-0-0, put their unbeaten mark on the line at Kennesaw State on Friday, September 19. The match is set to start at 7 p.m.
The Cougars are coming off a 1-0 win over High Point this past Saturday. Senior Megan Manthey scored the game-winner on a penalty kick in the 58th minute. The game-winner was her third of the season, which is the best mark in the entire Southern Conference.
Kennesaw State comes into the match with a record of 4-2-2, after battling Wofford to a 1-1 draw at the Academy Sports Shootout in Spartanburg, S.C. The Owls knocked off Furman on the first day of the tournament, 3-1.
For the season, Beth Meadors leads the team in points with eight (three goals/two assists), while goalie Staci Pugh has made 43 saves in between the pipes for the Owls.
The last time the Cougars and Kennesaw State faced off was in 2006. The Owls were victorious in the match, taking a 1-0 decision in double overtime.
The College of Charleston will return to action on Monday, September 22nd when they travel across town to take on rival Charleston Southern. The match is set to begin at 4 p.m.
