Women's Golf Finishes Second at Wendy's Invitational

Freshman Ainhoa Nogales (Pozuelo de Alarcon, Spain) tied for fourth with a two-day total of 148 to lead the College of Charleston women's golf team to second with a 605 after the second and final round of the Charleston Southern Wendy's Invitational held Oct. 19-20 at the Coosaw Creek Country Club in North Charleston, S.C.
Coastal Carolina fired a 285 in the second round to take the 19-stroke win with a 586. Memphis came in third with a 614.
Chanticleer Aruka Felgueroso shot a 140 to take individual medalist honors.
Following Nogales and her 148 in 36 holes was Kathy Boehm (Poing, Germany) who shot a 149 to tie for sixth. Vanessa Koechli (Greer, S.C.) tied for 10th with a 153 and tied for 17th was Anna Martin (Easley, S.C.) with her 155. Leigh Whittaker (Baden-Baden, Germany) shot a 164 to tie for 43rd.
Emily Rapp (Simpsonville, S.C.) and Courtney Brink (Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla.) competed as individuals with Rapp tying for 22nd with a 157 and Brink coming in 48th with a 167.
The Cougars next compete at the Palmetto Intercollegiate Oct. 26-27 at Oak Point Golf Club in Kiawah Island, S.C.
