College of Charleston Track and Field Team Competes at Carolina Classic

CHAPEL HILL, N.C.--- The College of Charleston women's track and field team took part in the Dick Taylor Carolina Invitational on Friday.
Top performers on the day for the Cougars included Erin Stoddard (Mauldin, S.C.) who placed fifth in the 3000-meter run in a time of 10:24. In the one-mile run, Grace Loba (Orean, Va.) placed ninth in a time of 5:17, while Kristen Wolfe (Midlothian, Va.) finished just behind Loba in 11th with a time of 5:19.
Also, in the 400 meter dash, Mary Zolga (Raynham, Mass.) placed 15th in a time of 59.44, while in the 800-meters Alyssa D'Orazio (Haddonfield, N.J.) placed 11th in 2:22. Both marks were school-records in the events.
The Cougars return to action on Saturday, Feb. 28th when they take part in the 2009 Southern Conference Indoor Championships in Clemson, S.C.
