The 21st-ranked Wake Forest women's tennis team blanked 65th-ranked College of Charleston, 7-0, at the Tennis Center at Patriots Point on Tuesday.
The Cougars play North Carolina State at 2 p.m. on Wednesday.
With the win, the Demon Deacons improved to 9-4, while the Cougars fell to 8-2. Charleston had its 8-match winning streak snapped.
After sweeping the doubles point, the Demon Deacons secured the win when Emilee Malvehy knocked off Caroline Newman, 6-4, 6-0 at No. 3. Wake Forest got a 6-2, 6-2 win by Sasha Kulikova over Charleston's Holly Dowse at No. 1 singles.
Charleston's Anna Lee Evans dropped a hard-fought 7-6, 6-3 decision at No. 5 singles.
