
CofC Women?s Tennis Falls to Furman, 6-1

MT. PLEASANT, S.C. ? The College of Charleston women's tennis team dropped a 6-1 decision to Furman in a matchup of the two top teams in the Southern Conference on Thursday afternoon at the CofC Tennis Center at Patriots Point.
Charleston, which had its 11-match winning streak snapped, fell to 19-4 overall and 7-1 in Southern Conference play. Furman improved to 13-7 and 8-0.
Furman got off to a quick start in doubles action, capturing two of the three matches played to earn a team point and then didn't look back in singles, taking five of the six matches played to earn the win.
The lone winner on the day for the Cougars was Keely Mulligan, who was a straight set (6-3, 6-1) victor at number five singles over Lauren Tomory.
The Cougars play host to Charleston Southern at 5:00 on Monday.
