CHARLESTON, S.C. - The College of Charleston women's soccer team will open the home portion of their 2009 schedule on Wednesday, Sept. 16 when they host USC Upstate at 7 p.m. at Patriots Point Soccer Stadium.
The Cougars come into the match sporting a 2-3-1 overall record. Charleston dropped two hard-fought matches at the Hilton Garden Hokie Invitational this past weekend to Duquesne (0-1) and host Virginia Tech (0-3).
The road trip to Virginia Tech ended a seven match road swing to open Charleston's season. Beginning with the USC Upstate game, the Cougars will host four-straight home matches.
USC Upstate comes into the match with a 0-7 record. The Spartans dropped their last match this past Sunday to Chattanooga 8-0. The Lady Mocs were the third Southern Conference School the Spartans have faced on the season, as they played Furman and Wofford earlier in the year.
Last season, Megan Manthey scored with the game-winner with eight minutes left in regulation to give the Cougars a 1-0 victory at USC Upstate. The matchup was the first all-time between the schools.
