Nogales Finishes Third, Leads CofC Women's Golf to Second at SoCon Championship

Chattanooga fired a 299 in the third round to jump past the Cougars and claim the 2010 Southern Conference Women's Golf Championship held at Moss Creek Golf Club in Hilton Head, S.C. The College of Charleston ended the day with a 910, eight strokes behind the Mocs. UNC Greensboro finished third with a 918.
Appalachian State's Yue Xu, who led the entire tournament, took home individual medalist honors with a 217. Chattanooga's Emma de Groot was second with a 220. Ainhoa Nogales (Pozuelo de Alarcon, Spain) finished third for the Cougars with a 221.
Katharina Boehm (Poing, Germany) tied for sixth with a 227, while Leigh Whittaker (Baden-Baden, Germany, who earned a spot on the All-Conference team, tied for 14th with a 231.
Vanessa Koechli (Greer, S.C.) earned a spot on the All-Freshman team and tied for 25th with a 238 in 54 holes. Emily Rapp (Simpsonville, S.C.) tied for 29th with a 241.
