Cougar Golfers Finish 22nd at NCAA East Regional

The College of Charleston women's golf team fired a 314 in the third round to finish 22nd at the NCAA East Regional, held May 6-8 at the Ironwood Country Club in Greenville, N.C. #28 South Carolina finished even par for the tournament to win with an 864 in the 54-hole event. #18 Tennessee finished second with an 866. The Cougars totaled a 921, just four strokes from 21st place #44 Georgia State.
Vanessa Koechli (Greer, S.C.) led the Cougars with a 226 after firing a 77 in today's round to tie for 66th. Leigh Whittaker (Baden-Baden, Germany) tied for 85th with a 230 and tied for 89th was Ainhoa Nogales (Pozuelo de Alarcon, Spain) with her 232.
Katharina Boehm (Poing, Germany) was 94th with a 233 and in 115th was Anna Martin with a 250 on the day.
The top eight teams advanced to the NCA Championship finals to be held May 18-21 at the Country Club of Landfall in Wilmington, N.C.
