Troy Lesesne Named Among Top-20 Assistant Coaches In America

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - College of Charleston assistant men's soccer coach Troy Lesesne was named one of the top-20 assistant coaches in the nation by CollegeSoccerNews.com, a leading publication on NCAA soccer.

"Troy's commitment to our players and our program is the catalyst for his great work," said CofC head coach Ralph Lundy. "He works every minute to help our young men and our team grow. He is a Cougar through and through."

CSN annually recognizes assistant coaches across the country who are excelling at their work. The criteria are based on efforts and dedication toward the coaches' respective programs but additional weight is also placed on the teams' success on the field.

The Cougars garnered national attention when they won 10 consecutive matches and went unbeaten in 12 while climbing as high as No. 10 in the NCAA RPI Rankings. CofC advanced to the second round of the NCAA Tournament before falling to overall No. 1 seed and eventual tournament-runner-up Louisville.

The 2010 season was Lesesne's third as assistant coach and sixth as a member of the CofC men's soccer coaching staff. Lesesne serves the program in a wide range of capacities such as monitoring academics, coordinating recruiting efforts, maintaining alumni relations, scheduling, budgeting and managing equipment. His continuous efforts greatly alleviate the responsibilities of his fellow coaches and members of the athletic department.

Lesesne was a standout player for CofC and an integral member of the 2004 Southern Conference champion team which advanced to the second round of the NCAA Tournament. He was named to the NSCAA/Adidas All-American team as well as the NSCAA/Adidas All-South first team.
