
Men's Soccer Loses to Georgia Southern

STATESBORO, Ga. - The College of Charleston men's soccer team suffered its first loss of the Southern Conference season in a 3-2 loss to Georgia Southern on Saturday afternoon.
The Cougars fell behind by a three goal count before battling their way back into the match. CofC cut the lead to 3-2 but could not get any closer and eventually took the loss.
The Eagles got two goals out of Luigi Clendening and a third from Joe Hughes to take a 3-0 lead.
CofC battled back with a pair of second half goals but could not complete the comeback effort. Troy Peterson (Federal Way, Wash.) and Joey De Mare (Chapin, S.C.) scored for the Cougars but CofC could not net the equalizer and ultimately took the loss.
CofC breaks from SoCon action and also breaks the six-game road stretch with a home match against Coastal Carolina on Wednesday, Oct. 5 at Patriots Point.
