
Cougars Conclude Play at ITA Carolina Regionals

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – The College of Charleston's women's tennis team concluded play on Saturday at the USTA/ITA Carolina Regional Championships hosted by the University of North Carolina at the Cone-Kenfield Tennis Stadium in Chapel Hill.
Junior Christin Newman (Greensboro, N.C) and sophomore Kelly Kambourelis (Melbourne, Fla.) both fell in the round of 32 in singles play, losing in straight sets to top-ten-seeded opponents.
Kambourelis faced ninth-seeded player Caroline Price of UNC, falling with a score of 6-1, 6-0, while Newman battled fifth-seeded player Chloe Smith of Duke, ending with a loss of 6-3, 6-1.
Up next, the Cougars will return home to host the CofC Halloween Fright Championships Oct. 28-30 at the College of Charleston Tennis Center at Patriots Point in Mt. Pleasant.
