
Men?s Golf Tied for Fifth After Round One of Southern Conference Championship

CHARLESTON, S.C. - Senior Henry Smart shot a 2-under 70 to lead the College of Charleston men's golf team in the opening round of the 2012 Southern Conference Championship at the Daniel Island Club Sunday.
The Cougars shot a 7-over 295 team score and are tied for fifth-place with Furman and five shots back of leader Georgia Southern.
Smart got off to a quick start as he birdied three holes on the front nine to shoot a 3-under 33. His 70 puts him tied for second-place individually.
Senior Seth Stuart carded an opening round of 74 and is tied for 18th place.
The Cougars tee off tomorrow from hole 1 starting at 9:40 a.m.
