Men?s Soccer Bested by No. 19 Monmouth

WEST LONG BEACH, N.J. - The College of Charleston men's soccer team fell, 1-0, to No.19 Monmouth on The Great Lawn Sunday afternoon.
The lone goal of the match came in the 23rd minute when Ryan Clark played a ball into the box and Derrick Edney headed it home.
The Cougars, now 3-4-0, were outshot, 12-7, in the contest. Both teams had four corner-kick opportunities. CofC committed one more foul than the Hawks in a 15-whislted affair.
Kees Heemskerk (Zaandam, Netherlands) made four saves in net for the Cougars.
The Cougars return to action on Tuesday, Sept. 25 when they head to No. 21 Coastal Carolina. Kickoff is slated for 7 p.m.
