FORT COLLINS, Colo. – The College of Charleston women's soccer team was outlasted by Colorado State in a 1-0 overtime loss to the Rams at Lagoon Field on Sunday afternoon.
The Cougars (3-5-0) possessed well and created scoring chances, but the opportunities evaded CofC at every pass.
After a scoreless 90-minute regulation, the Rams netted the game's lone goal in the 94th minute. The goal was scored by Colorado State's Amy Eckert, after she was slipped a pass from Gianna Bertana and scored from the edge of the box.
The match ended with the teams dead even in shots at 8-8. The Cougars demonstrated a balanced attack with their eight shots coming from six different players.
Charleston returns to competition with a crosstown rivalry match against the Citadel on Sunday, Sept. 21 before opening the Colonial Athletic Association season against Drexel on Friday, Sept. 26.
