RICHMOND, Va. – College of Charleston freshman goalkeeper Brian Kilgallon was named the Colonial Athletic Association Rookie of the Week for his role in a pair of Cougar victories at the Gray Griffin Memorial Tournament hosted by Furman this past weekend.
The Boca Raton, Fla., native made 10 saves and posted back-to-back shutouts in College of Charleston's victories over Georgia State (2-0) and North Florida (4-0) last week.
The freshman goalkeeper stopped seven shots versus GSU and three against UNF to earn a spot on the all-tournament team at Furman's Griffin Memorial Tournament.
Kilgallon and the rest of the Cougars (2-2-0) head to Akron, Ohio, for the University of Akron Tournament at FirstEnergy Stadium and Cub Cadet Field next weekend.
Charleston is set for neutral-site showdowns with Hartford (Sept. 12) and Central Florida (Sept. 14).
