
Cougars Tee It Up at Colleton River Collegiate

CHARLESTON, S.C. – The College of Charleston men's golf team will return to action over spring break at the Colleton River Collegiate hosted by Michigan State on March 7-8 at the par-72 Colleton River Plantation Dye Course in Bluffton, S.C.
This year's tournament field includes CofC, host Michigan State, Ball State, Bowling Green, Cincinnati, Connecticut, Memphis, Miami (Ohio), North Texas, Queens University of Charlotte, Rutgers, Toledo and Xavier. Last year, the Cougars finished in the field of 14 teams. The course will be set-up to play at 7,403 yards.
The Cougars will start junior William Rainey (Charlotte, N.C.), senior John Jonas (Jacksonville, Fla.), junior Parker Derby (Columbus, Ga.), junior Philip Oweida (Charlotte, N.C.) and sophomore Anthony Gabreile (West Palm Beach, Fla.). Junior Matthew Mahle (Lexington, Ky.) and senior Josh Lorenzetti (Blythewood, S.C.) will compete as individuals.
“We are ready to get back into action,” CofC Head Coach Mark McEntire said. “We've had a few weeks off and been able to work on a few things from Florida. I really like this team and when they put it all together, it is going to be special. Hope it is this week.”
The first round begins on Monday with tee times starting at 8:30 a.m. (ET) with continuous play through the second round. The final round on Tuesday will be an 8:00 a.m. (ET) shotgun start.
