
Bailey Ober Selected by Dodgers in MLB Draft

CHARLESTON, S.C. – College of Charleston redshirt sophomore Bailey Ober was selected by the Los Angeles Dodgers in the 23rd round (701 overall pick) of the Major League Baseball First-Year Player Draft on Saturday.
Ober was 7-4 with a 3.53 ERA and 96 strikeouts in 97 innings for the Cougars in 2016. The right-hander was an All-CAA second team selection and was tabbed CAA Pitcher of the Week twice. In his third outing of the season, Ober did not allow a hit in 7.2 innings against The Citadel.
For his career, the Charlotte, N.C., native is 17-7 with a 2.47 ERA including a 12-2 career mark at Patriots Point. He was named NCBWA National Pitcher of the Year, Baseball America All-American and CAA Rookie of the Year following a 10-3 freshman campaign.
