CRITICAL POINTS AGAINST HIGH POINT:
- Freshman Jace Stancil earned the start in the opener for Charleston, striking out seven Panthers in a season-best 7.0 frames.
- High Point plated both runs on back-to-back plays in the fourth.
- Freshman Austin Wiegandt tossed two perfect innings in relief for the Cougars, fanning four batters.
- Sophomore Alex LaCoste went 2-for-4 in the setback with a double.
- Graduate Dylan Johnson reached base three times in four trips to the plate.
OF NOTE:
- Charleston is now 4-6 versus High Point.
- LaCoste extended his hitting streak to 15 games Thursday.
