SKILLMAN, N.J. – Both the men's and women's tennis teams at the College of Charleston received offseason recognition from the Intercollegiate Tennis Association this month, as the governing body announced both programs had earned a Top 10 regional ranking.
The men's team under Jay Bruner were ranked No. 8 in the Carolinas region, while the women's team under Director of Tennis Angelo Anastopoulo cracked the list at No. 10 in the region.
Both programs delivered spirited showings at the CAA Championships in the spring. The women made it to the semi-finals before surrendering a hard-fought 4-3 loss to No. 36 William & Mary, while the men pulled off the program's first-ever CAA Championship by way of three straight wins over James Madison, Elon, and No. 67 UNCW, earning them an NCAA Tournament berth.
