CHARLESTON, S.C. – For the third-consecutive week, the College of Charleston men's golf team will continue fall tournament play at the 2016 Bearcat Invitational on Sept. 26-27 at the Coldstream Country Club in Cincinnati, Ohio.
The 10-team field includes CofC, host Cincinnati, Akron, Kentucky, Louisville, Michigan State, Middle Tennessee State, Mississippi State, Ohio State and Xavier.
The Cougars will use the same lineup which has resulted in back-to-back Top 5 tournament finishes led by senior William Rainey (Charlotte, N.C.), senior Parker Derby (Columbus, Ga.), freshman Hunter Dunagan (Augusta, Ga.), freshman Michael Sass (Louisville, Ky.) and freshman Logan Sowell (Kershaw, S.C.). Senior Philip Oweida (Charlotte, N.C.) will also compete as the team's sixth player as the tournament will be a six counting four format.
"No rest for the Cougars," CofC Head Coach Mark McEntire said. "We look to continue our good play this weekend in Cincinnati. We will play the same lineup and this tournament is unique as the format is a six counting four. We are very excited about seeing this team play. We played really well last week at The Grove and look to continue to improve. It has been a great start to the fall and we hope to have another great week."
The par-71 course will play at 7,150 yards with 36 holes of continuous play on Monday, Sept. 26 at 8:30 a.m. (ET) and the final 18 holes slated for Tuesday, Sept. 27 at 8:30 a.m. (ET). Live tournament scoring will be available at: www.BirdieFire.com.
