CHARLESTON, S.C. – The Cougars could never quite find their rhythm amid a barrage of foul calls Friday night in TD Arena, as the College of Charleston women's basketball team (5-10, 2-2) fell to the Elon Phoenix (12-4, 4-0) by a score of 84-56.
• For the second straight game against Elon, the Cougars succumbed by way of a big second quarter by Elon. The Phoenix outscored CofC 26-10 in the period which included a 13-2 run. Elon went into the locker room at half with a commanding 44-19 lead that the Cougars would not recover from.

Breanna Bolden led the Cougars with 14 points and seven rebounds, adding three steals. However, the senior guard was hampered by early foul trouble, which limited her 27 minutes. Fouls were a theme for the Cougars all night, as the squad committed 27 to Elon's 18, affording the Phoenix 34 opportunities from the stripe.

Deja Ford notched a career-best 12 points and three assists on the night, forcing her way to the line for six free-throw attempts.
Dajah Logan inched close to her own career-best with a 14-point outing, and matched a career-best two blocks.
Dee Heath also achieved the landmark of scoring her first collegiate basket in the fourth quarter.
• Elon won the rebounding battle 50-35, which led to both Jennifer Rhodes (10-10) and Malaya Jonson (15-12) earning double-doubles. They also forced the Cougars into 20 turnovers by way of 11 steals. Elon pushed their winning streak to eight games in the process.
The Cougars now begin a three-game road-trip, which begins this Sunday in a 2 p.m. showdown with Towson (8-7, 1-3) in SECU Arena.
