Truxtun Umsted Headlines Trio Of Regattas On The Docket For Cougars

CHARLESTON, S.C. --- A demanding slate awaits the College of Charleston sailing team this weekend as the Cougars head to the Truxtun Umsted Trophy on Saturday and Sunday in Annapolis, Md. seeking redemption after finishing second last fall. The Cougars will also travel to the North Points #5 on Saturday in Atlanta, Ga., and the Yale Women's on Saturday and Sunday in New Haven, Conn.
Stefano Peschiera (Lima, Peru) and Grace McCarthy (San Diego, Calif.) will anchor A-Division for the Cougars at the Truxtun Umsted, with Dirk Johnson skippering B-Division alongside the crew tandem of Elizabeth Pemberton (Osterville, Mass.) and Carter Cameron (Mt. Pleasant, S.C.). Gerald Williams (Sai Kung, Hong Kong, China) and Kelly-Ann Arrindell (Port-of-Spain, Trinidad) will sail singlehanded in C- and D-Division, respectively.
At the North Points #5, sophomore skipper Will Martens (San Rafael, Calif.) and sophomore crew Keely Gregg (Skaneateles, N.Y.) will sail in A-Division, with freshman Jack Brown (Newtown Square, Pa.) skippering B-Division alongside freshman crew Oliver Parsons (Stonington, Conn.).
Alie Toppa will skipper A-Division for the Cougars at the Yale Women's with junior crew Caroline Bracken (Bridgewater, Mass.); sophomore skipper Paris Henken (Coronado, Calif.) and junior crew Annabel Carrington (White Stone, Va.) will represent the Cougars in B-Division.
