Cougars Dominate Field At SAISA Fall Coed

MT. PLEASANT, S.C. --- The top-ranked College of Charleston sailing team cruised to a comfortable win in the SAISA Fall Coed on Saturday and Sunday at the J. Stewart Walker Sailing Complex.
The Cougars totaled 32 points – eight above the minimum – with 18 race victories out of a possible 24. Eckerd finished second with 94 points, followed by Jacksonville with 97. Stefano Peschiera (Lima, Peru) and Grace McCarthy (San Diego, Calif.) finished atop A-Division with 15 points, while skipper Augie Dale (Pewaukee, Wis.) and the crew combo of Katie Lounsbury (Jensen Beach, Fla.) and Carter Cameron (Mt. Pleasant, S.C.) posted 17 points in B-Division.
Charleston will sail in two regattas next weekend: the Kennedy Offshore Cup on Saturday and Sunday, November 4 and 5 in Annapolis, Md.; while Peschiera, Gerald Williams (Sao Kung, Hong Kong, China), Kelly-Ann Arrindell (Port-of-Spain, Trinidad), and Marian Williams (Sao Kung, Hong Kong, China) will head to St. Petersburg, Fla. for ICSA men's and women's singlehanded nationals on November 4 and 5.
