Sunday Rally Lifts Cougars To Wins At North Points #4, Navy Fall Women's

ANNAPOLIS, Md. --- Paris Henken (Coronado, Calif.), Annabel Carrington (White Stone, Va.), and Elizabeth Mignon (Bay Head, N.J.) dominated B-Division at the Navy Fall Women's on Saturday and Sunday to propel the top-ranked College of Charleston sailing team to a 14-point win over Brown, after the Cougars also won the North Points #4 on Saturday to cap another strong weekend of sailing.
On Saturday, the Cougars earned a win at the North Points #4 with 24 points, and edged out second-place South Carolina by two points. Junior Charlie Morano (Edgartown, Mass.) skippered the Cougars to the top of A-Division with 14 points alongside senior crew Marissa Bamonte (Tiverton, R.I.). In B-Division, sophomore skipper Patrick Shannon (Newport Beach, Calif.) and sophomore crew Laura Masterson (Kemah, Texas) finished first with 10 points.
The Cougars capped the weekend with a comeback win at the Navy Fall Women's after entering Sunday in third, and trailing first-place Yale by 30 points. Henken, Carrington, and Mignon delivered a dominating performance with a 35-point margin of victory in B-Division, as the Cougars took the lead following the 15th rotation.
Charleston finished the regatta with 238 points to edge out second-place Brown's total of 252. Alie Toppa, Caroline Bracken (Bridgewater, Mass.), and Katherine Matheson (San Diego, Calif.) finished fourth in A-Division with 110 points, while Henken, Carrington, and Mignon topped B-Division with 51 points. Kelly-Ann Arrindell (Port-of-Spain, Trinidad) placed second in C-Division with 77 points.
The Cougars return to action next weekend at three regattas: the Yale Women's on Saturday and Sunday in New Haven, Conn.; North Points #5 on Saturday in Atlanta, Ga.; and the Truxtun Umsted on Saturday and Sunday in Annapolis, Md.
