CHARLESTON, S.C. – The College of Charleston women's tennis team wraps up its Fall season this weekend, when it will host the CofC Classic at Patriots Point.
The tournament will pit the Cougars against student-athletes representing Samford, Winthrop and Marshall. The College played all three teams last season in the Spring, defeating the Bulldogs (5-2) and Thundering Herd (4-3) but succumbing to the Eagles (4-3).
It will be the only Fall tournament the Cougars play this season outside of the ITA Regionals. They were originally intended to host the CofC Invitational back in September, but the tournament was scrapped due to Hurricane Irma.
The Cougars begin Friday's competition at 12:30 p.m., matching up with Winthrop in doubles play and then later against Marshall in singles action. The tournament will be a hidden dual format as players duke it out with flight championships on the line.
Admission is free of charge for all College of Charleston home tennis events.
