CHARLESTON, S.C. – The College of Charleston women's basketball team (1-4) struggled to find its shooting rhythm from the field on Wednesday, and despite forcing Campbell (3-1) into early foul trouble, fell to the Camels by a score of 53-45.
• The Cougars shot 23.6% (13 of 55), but were able to keep the game close by forcing Campbell into committing 26 fouls on the day, leading to the College being able to go 19 of 24 from the free throw line. Not only that, the Cougars managed to get two Campbell players to foul out.
• Campbell took the first lead of the game, and only relinquished it once in the second quarter after a 7-0 run by the College.
•
Tanisha Brown was the only Cougar to reach double digit scoring, finishing with a 17-6 with a block and two steals.
Brianna Boyd put up an extensive stat-line of her own with seven points, eight rebounds, two blocks and a steal. However, the two were hard-pressed to find their stroke, going a combined 7 of 26 from the field.
• Caroline Bowns was the high-scorer for the Camels, scoring all 14 of her points in the first half. Taya Bolden was a factor on the glass, scoring a game-high 13 rebounds.
The Cougars return to action on Sunday when they host Appalachian State.
