Cougars Return to Columbia for USC Open

CHARLESTON, S.C. – The College of Charleston track & field program embarks upon its final regular season meet on the schedule Saturday, when it heads back to Columbia for the USC Open.
This will be the third of three trips the Cougars take to the state capital this season. The team previously participated in the Weems Baskin Invitational in late March as well as the Gamecock Invitational last weekend. Once again, it will be held at USC's new facility, the Sheila and Morris Cregger Track.
The field will consist of 30 teams, including Division I programs such as Alabama State, Charleston Southern, The Citadel, Florida A&M, Furman, UNF, SC State, Tennessee, USC Upstate and Wofford.
The field events begin at 9 a.m. with the hammer throw, and will run until the conclusion of the shot put, which begins at 4:30 p.m. The track event meanwhile will begin with the 3000m at 10 a.m., and run until the final scheduled event of the day, the 4x400m relay.
