CHARLESTON, S.C. – The College of Charleston Track and Field team heads south to the Sunshine State this Saturday, where it will take part in the UNF Invitational in Jacksonville, Fla.
The Cougars come off last weekend's Colonial Relays, where Julisa Tindall picked up an event championship in the high jump and Jenny Martin got on the board as well with a personal best performance in the 100m hurdles to take seventh.
CofC made the trip to Hodges Stadium last season at the UNF Spring Break Invitational, when Kennay Agnew made headlines by breaking the school 200m dash record with a speed of 24.90. Tindall registered yet another high jump win in that meet as well with a height of 1.73m.
All told, 26 schools are registered for the meet. Those include Division I programs such as Bethune-Cookman, Charleston Southern, Farleigh Dickinson, Florida A&M, Georgia Southern, Jacksonville, Kennesaw State, Savannah State, Tennessee State, UCF and hosts UNF.
Field events begin with the hammer throw at 10 a.m. Track events won't get underway until 4:30 p.m., and will stretch through 9 p.m.
Live results for the meet will be available at halfmiletiming.com
