
Cougars Finish Tied For Fourth at William & Mary Invitational

WILLIAMSBURG, Va. – The College of Charleston women's golf team closed out its second tournament of the fall season in a tie for fourth at the two-day William & Mary Invitational held at the par-72 River Course at Kingsmill Resort.
CofC shot a three-round score of 903 (+39) to tie host William & Mary, while Penn State won the team title with an 888 (+24). UNCW was second (+26) and Seton Hall third (+28) in an 11-team tournament field.
The Cougars were led by senior and 2017 All-CAA Second Team selection Josefine Garton (Linkoping, Sweden), who tied for 13th carding rounds of 78, 74 and 75 (+11). It marked her third Top-20 finish of her career at The College. Sophomore Victoria Huskey (Greenville, S.C.) tied for 16th with rounds of 77, 72 and 79 (+12).
Also starting and finishing inside the Top 25 – freshman Olivia Hamilton (Manchester, England) and junior transfer Anna Buchanan (Athens, Ga.), who both tied for 22nd (+13), and freshman Chloe Currie (Mississauga, Ontario, Canada), who tied for 24th (+14).
Freshman Clarissa von Stosch (Kassel, Germany) also turned in a Top-25 finish of her own as she tied for 24th shooting rounds of 76, 74 and 80 (+14) playing as an individual.
The Cougars will return to action in two weeks as they head out West to compete in the Golfweek Challenge on Sept. 25-27 at the Red Sky Golf Club in Vail, Colo.
