CHARLESTON, S.C. – The College of Charleston track & field program competes in its final meet of the indoor regular season this weekend, when the Cougars will take part in the UCS Invitational.
It will be the third and final time CofC heads to the JDL Fast Track this season, having already competed in the Camel City Invite earlier this month as well as the JDL College Kickoff Classic back in December.
The meet will be well-attended, and will feature some of the premier programs in the region. The Cougars will be one of 16 Division I women's programs in attendance, including the likes of North Carolina, South Carolina, Wake Forest, NC State, West Virginia, Clemson, Duke, UNCG, The Citadel, High Point, Furman, Campbell and Tennessee Tech. CofC will also be one of three CAA institutions in attendance, as they will also encounter the likes of Elon and William & Mary.
Friday's competition won't begin until 6 p.m., and will only consist of three events, the 5000m, the shot put and the DMR. Everything else will take place on Saturday, beginning at 10 AM with the long jump and high jump. Action will continue until 5 p.m. with the conclusion of the 4x400m relay.
