CHARLESTON, S.C. – The College of Charleston women's tennis team (6-1) will take their home courts at Patriots Point once again on Tuesday in the hopes of keeping their five-match winning streak alive, as they will host the St. John's Red Storm (5-2) at 1:30 p.m.
The Cougars started their season in January with a 1-1 split, and have since rattled off five consecutive wins against Bethune-Cookman, Savannah State, Charlotte, Florida A&M and NC A&T, making their home debut against the Aggies on Sunday. In seven matches, the top-flight doubles tandem of Christi Woodson and Anastasia Palaska has been undeniable with a 5-1 record, while Catalina Medici and Turner Yates have both been highly effective in the lower flights with 5-1 records for each.
The Cougars will face off against the Red Storm for the first time on record on Tuesday. After dropping their first match of the season to Harvard, St. John's has rallied to take five of their last six matches, including a 4-3 win over Buffalo, a team that CofC defeated by the same score last season. Freshman Kajsa Stegrell has been on a tear in the fourth and fifth flights, winning five singles matches in a row dating back to the beginning of the month.
Live results will be made available at CofCStats.com. Admission to all home tennis matches at Patriots Point is free of charge.
