Men's Tennis on the Road for Three Matches in Three Days

CHARLESTON, S.C. – The College of Charleston men's tennis team (3-4) is set to play three matches in three days on the road, with visits to North Florida (4-6), Coppin State (0-1) and Washington College (0-1) on deck this week.
CofC plays North Florida on Wednesday night at 6 p.m. They then head up to Maryland for two matches on Friday, with Coppin State first up at 11 a.m. followed by Washington College later on at 4:30 p.m.
North Florida recently snapped a three-match losing streak when they were able to vanquish Charlotte at home by a score of 4-3. CofC met the Ospreys last year in Jacksonville, where they were defeated 6-0 amid a bevy of two-set matches. Lasse Muscheites has been the team's most effective singles player this year with a 5-3 record, playing primarily in flight two.
Coming off a 1-14 season, Coppin State has played just one match so far in 2018, a 7-0 defeat at the hands of Saint Peter's. It will be the Cougars' first trip to play CSU since 2015, a match CofC won 4-0.
Like Coppin State, Washington College has played just one time to date, a 9-0 defeat to Case Western Reserve. Though the Cougars have never before faced the Shoremen, it will nonetheless be a familiar encounter, as WC is led by former CofC Associate Men's and Women's Coach Oliver Reynolds, who is in his first season in charge of the program.
