
Cougars To Close Out Regular Season at Charleston Invitational

CHARLESTON, S.C. – With two tournament wins already this spring season, the College of Charleston women's golf team looks to close out the regular season with one more piece of hardware at the Charleston Invitational hosted by Charleston Southern on April 2-3 at the Rivertowne Country Club in Mt. Pleasant, S.C.
 
This year's 16-team tournament field is comprised of host Charleston Southern, CofC, Campbell, East Carolina, Georgia Southern, Georgia State, FIU, Memphis, Middle Tennessee State, Morehead State, William & Mary, The Citadel, Coastal Carolina, High Point, UNCW and North Florida.
 
The par-72 course will play at 5,988 yards with 36 holes of continuous play on Monday with an 8:45 a.m. (ET) shotgun start and the final 18 holes on Tuesday with an 8:45 a.m. (ET) shotgun start.
 
The Cougars are coming into the tournament with first-place finishes at the Red Rocks Invitational on March 25 in Sedona, Ariz., and the Edwin Watts / Kiawah Island Spring Classic on Feb. 27 on Kiawah Island, S.C.
 
CofC will have two teams competing in the field with its main starting five of reigning Colonial Athletic Association Women's Golfer of the Week Clarissa von Stosch (Kassel, Germany), sophomore Victoria Huskey (Greenville, S.C.), junior Isi Nilsson (Santiago, Chile), freshman Olivia Hamilton (Oakenshaw, England) and senior Josefine Garton (Linkoping, Sweden).
 
"I am looking forward to seeing how we react after the win last week," CofC Head Coach Jamie Futrell said. "This will be a very competitive tournament and we will have to be at our best if we are to have a chance at the championship."
 
The Cougars' "B" team will be comprised of sophomore Savanah Goodman (Easley, S.C.), sophomore Anna-Theresa Rottluff (Dusseldorf, Germany), junior Anna Buchanan (Athens, Ga.), freshman Chloe Currie (Mississauga, Ontario, Canada) and sophomore Yuki Nakayama (Kawasaki, Japan).
 
This will be the team's final tournament of the regular season in preparation for the 2018 CAA Women's Golf Championship on April 13-15 at St. James Plantation in Southport, N.C.
