Cougars Visit WCU for Catamount Classic
4/12/2018 2:47:00 PM | Women's Track & Field
CHARLESTON, S.C. – The College of Charleston track & field team heads to Western Carolina University for its penultimate meet of the regular season, when they take part in this weekend's Catamount Classic, presented by Catamount Travel Center.
The Cougars will begin competing at 3 p.m. on Friday with the beginning of the hammer throw, and will take part in three other events before the end of the day. CofC will finish out the meet on Saturday for a full day of action, beginning with the discus at 12:15 p.m. and ending with the 4x400m relay at 7:05 p.m.
It will be the Cougars' first trip to Cullowhee in quite some time, and is in fact just the second visit on record. CofC visited WCU back in 2008, where Isabel Boersma broke the 100m hurdles school record of the day with her time of 16.13. Boersma went on to claim the school record in the heptathlon a few years later, a mark which was finally broken by Jenny Martin last season.
The Cougars will be among seven Division One programs in attendance, including East Tennessee State, Furman, Jacksonville State, Marshall, UNC Ashville, and of course, Western Carolina.
Live Results will be made available courtesy of Rhodes Race Timing.
