CANTON, Mass. – College of Charleston sophomore Jodee Tindal (Rock Hill, S.C.) claimed her first career tournament win finishing as co-individual medalist at the two-day Boston College Intercollegiate held at the Blue Hill Country Club.
Tindal, who competed as an individual in the 89-player field, carded rounds of 71, 73 and 76 to finish in a tie with Mary Joiner of Western Kentucky at 4-over par for the tournament.
"Congrats to Jodee," CofC Head Coach Jamie Futrell said. "It was a great win for her. While her start was a little tough today, she hung tough and played like a champion."
The average score during the final round was 79.70 on the par-72 course, which plays host to the LPGA TOUR PING/Welch's Championship.
Juniors Anna-Theresa Rottluff (Dusseldorf, Germany) and Victoria Huskey (Greenville, S.C.) both finished in the Top 15 individually. Rottluff tied for 11th, while Huskey tied for 13th with a final-round 2-over par 74.
The Cougars shot the lowest team round on the final day of play with a 301. They climbed up three spots from sixth to third (+51) in the final team standings. Western Kentucky won the team title (+47) followed by host and runner-up Boston College (+50).
"I was proud that we got ourselves into a position to win, but we just couldn't finish the deal on some tough finishing holes," Futrell said. "It was a very disappointing day yesterday, but it was a great comeback for the team today."
The Cougars will be back in action next week at the Jacksonville Classic hosted by Jacksonville University on Oct. 1-2 at the Marsh Landing Country Club in Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla.
