BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Declan Hines was the top performer for the College of Charleston men's cross country team at the 45th Annual Paul Short Run, placing 67th in a field of 363 runners.
Hines paced the Cougars for the second time in as many meets this fall with a time of 26:18 on the 8K course. He helped lead Charleston to a 23rd place finish out of 44 in the team standings.
Hines was followed by
Hayden DiBona, who was 113th with a time of 26:47. DiBona was seeing his first action of the season after missing the Buccaneer Open on September 1. Also scoring were
Jack Wedge (26:55),
Evan Peirce (27:15) and
Ryan Moosbrugger (27:25).
Cate Ambrose led the women in the 6K race with a time of 23:15, followed by
Kristen Cherry (23:40),
Jace Kosiorek (24:46),
Jasmine Smith (24:58) and
Eileen Vedder (25:27). The Cougars were without leading runner
Tess Masselink.
The Cougars are back in action next Saturday when the pair up with The Citadel to host the Chareston Classic on Johns Island.
