CHARLESTON, S.C. --- The No. 18 (VolleyballMag.com Mid-Major Poll) College of Charleston volleyball team welcomes Charleston Southern, The Citadel, Davidson, and UNC Asheville to TD Arena this weekend for the Hampton Inn Charleston/West Ashley CofC Invitational as the Cougars wrap up their five-match home stand.
Tournament Preview
The Cougars welcome Charleston Southern, The Citadel, Davidson and UNC Asheville to TD Arena this weekend for the Hampton Inn Charleston/West Ashley CofC Invitational. Charleston boasts a combined 92-19 record against their four weekend foes, including an unblemished 29-0 mark against The Citadel.
Scouting UNC Asheville
UNC Asheville enters the weekend with a 3-3 record after dropping two of three at the Chattanooga Classic last weekend. Cara Guthrie leads the Bulldogs with 3.60 kills per set, while Cecilia Stack and Julia Loveday have combined for 40 blocks thus far.
Scouting The Citadel
The Citadel carries a 4-3 record having won four of its last five matches. Sharlissa De Jesus paces the Bulldog attack with 4.58 kills per set, while Sarah Dobrich leads The Citadel with 18 blocks (0.72 per set).
Scouting Charleston Southern
Charleston Southern has compiled a 4-1 record during the young season, including three straight victories entering the weekend. Madison Malloch paces the Bucs with 3.19 kills per set and a .325 hitting percentage, while Madison Martin leads the defense with 5.13 digs per frame.
Scouting Davidson
Davidson enters the weekend with a 4-3 record following a five-set win over Mississippi State last Saturday. Four players averaging more than two kills per set lead a balanced Wildcat attack, with Ellie Crosley paces Davidson with 21 blocks.

Senior McKala Rhodes put on a serving performance for the all-time annals on Tuesday, when the First Baptist product dropped in a career-high eight service aces - including four straight to start the third set. The performance ranks tied for third on the program's single-match list, both overall and in three-set matches.
Free-Swinging Freshman
The Cougars cruised to a sweep of South Carolina State on Tuesday behind a stellar showing from freshman outside hitter Sylvia Duggan, who delivered a double-double with 10 kills, 13 digs, and a .533 hitting percentage.
