CLEMSON, S.C. – The College of Charleston women's tennis team fell 4-0 on the road at Clemson on Sunday afternoon.
The Tigers (3-0) raced into a 1-0 lead with three victories in doubles action, No. 3 ranked duo Marie Leduc and Fernanda Navarro defeating
Anastasia Palaska and
Christi Woodson, 6-0, on court one.
Clara Errard &
Lily LaBiche fell 6-1 on court two with
Turner Yates and
Sarah Zschunke falling by the same scoreline on court three.
Singles action followed with Woodson, LaBiche and Errard falling in straight sets to give Clemson a 4-0 lead and end the match early with the clinch rule in effect.
At the time of conclusion Palaska led on court three with a 7-6 (7-3), 2-1 lead, Yates was level on court five 3-6, 6-1, and Medici trailing on court six 4-6, 1-4.
Charleston (1-2) now looks to the annual alumni match on January 26 in the first match at Patriots Point in 2019. The Cougars will battle the alum's beginning at 10 a.m.
