CHARLESTON, S.C. – Junior guard Cailin Dorsey (Raleigh, N.C.) has been named to the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-District® Women's Basketball First Team, recognizing the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances both athletically and in the classroom.
Dorsey makes history by becoming the first Charleston women's basketball student-athlete named as an Academic All-District First Team member since the CoSIDA program began in 1952, boasting a 3.82 cumulative grade-point average in a double major of public health and biology at The College.
Dorsey has been named to the Dean's List (GPA of 3.600 or higher) twice while also being named to the CofC Director of Athletics Honor Roll every semester in her time at CofC. Dorsey was also named as a finalist for the Dean Ehler's CAA Leadership Award in 2017-18 and 2018-19.
The Academic All-District® teams include student-athletes divided into eight geographic districts across the United States and Canada. First Team Academic All-District® honorees advance to the CoSIDA Academic All-America® Team ballot, where first-, second- and third-team All-America® honorees will be selected later this month.
